Syncing Fields Between Salesforce and Pardot

Salesforce updates to Prospect fields can trigger Pardot automation rules related to those fields

Pardot Assigned Prospects are created as a lead if the prospect is not syncing ( no email match ) with a record in Salesforce

If a prospects assigned User isn’t mapped to a Salesforce user – in Salesforce the prospect is assigned to the the connector user

Pardot uses the CRM ID to sync.IIt will also use the email address. If multiple records with the same email address exist, it will sync with the first record. Non-matching Prospects a created as a Lead record.

Same Email Address on Multiple Accounts

CRM ID is used for matching when multiple prospects with the same email is allowed.

If multiple emails exist, and no CRM ID, the prospects syncs to the record with the most recent activity

When Pardot finds a record has been merged, it updates its records and moves the old record to Pardot recycle bin.
Considerations for Enabling Salesforce User Sync

Can’t disable Salesforce User Sync after it’s enabled

Salesforce User Sync is NOT recommended for multiple Pardot accounts with one Salesforce org. Can’t sync subsets of users with the same Profile

If using Pardot Business Units – assigned different profiles per Business unit

If a deleted Pardot user is mapped to an active Salesforce user, that user is restored

When a profile is selected to sync, ALL Users with that profile are synced. You cannot segment them.

Synced users follow Salesforce login restrictions – ignoring any Pardot restrictions

Users created in Pardot, them mapped to a Salesforce User are converted to a synced user
