01 Salesforce-Pardot Connector Implementation Guide

Salesforce -Pardot Connector syncs Prospects and Opportunities between Pardot and Salesforce
  • Only one Salesforce Connector per Pardot
  • If Salesforce org has clickjack protection enables, add clickjack protection-compatible Visualforce page to Pardot data in Salesforce
  • Contact support to enable Person Account connections
  • Pardot syncs with Salesforce using email address
  • 2 minute between syncs
  • New Pardot accounts have the connector set in paused state.
  • Control what records are synced
    • Set Up Marketing Data Sharing
    • Change the connector user to a user with the preferred permissions
  • If you are using multiple Pardot account to connect to one Salesforce org, you can only use the integration user if Marketing Data
  • Sharing is also implemented.
Syncing Fields Between Salesforce and Pardot
  • Salesforce updates to Prospect fields can trigger Pardot automation rules related to those fields
  • Pardot Assigned Prospects are created as a lead if the prospect is not syncing ( no email match ) with a record in Salesforce
  • If a prospects assigned User isn’t mapped to a Salesforce user – in Salesforce the prospect is assigned to the the connector user
  • Prospects sync on an individual level, not on the company level
  • Pardot uses the CRM ID to sync.IIt will also use the email address. If multiple records with the same email address exist, it will sync with the first record. Non-matching Prospects a created as a Lead record.
  • Pardot activities appear in the Prospect Activity window, but only email are created as a CRM activity or task.
  • Email syncing is controlled by the connector
  • Opportunity activities are included in the default scoring.
    • Created Opportunity: +50
    • Lost Opportunity: – 100
  • Salesforce support can disable Opportunities syncing
  • If Salesforce has duplicate records, the Activity iFrame appears on all, but on the data fields appear on the syncing record
Same Email Address on Multiple Accounts
  • CRM ID is used for matching when multiple prospects with the same email is allowed.
  • If multiple emails exist, and no CRM ID, the prospects syncs to the record with the most recent activity
  • When Pardot finds a record has been merged, it updates its records and moves the old record to Pardot recycle bin.
Considerations for Enabling Salesforce User Sync
  • Can’t disable Salesforce User Sync after it’s enabled
  • Salesforce User Sync is NOT recommended for multiple Pardot accounts with one Salesforce org. Can’t sync subsets of users with the same Profile
  • If using Pardot Business Units – assigned different profiles per Business unit
  • If a deleted Pardot user is mapped to an active Salesforce user, that user is restored
  • When a profile is selected to sync, ALL Users with that profile are synced. You cannot segment them.
  • Synced users follow Salesforce login restrictions – ignoring any Pardot restrictions
  • Users created in Pardot, them mapped to a Salesforce User are converted to a synced user
  • Some Pardot User fields don’t sync to Salesforce
    • URL
    • HTML/Text Email Signature
    • Role
    • Tags
  • Activities Move to Salesforce when Salesforce User Sync is enabled
    • Importing Users
    • Resetting User Passwords
  • Pardot Email notification is disabled for new synced users
  • Pardot follows the Salesforce users language preference ( Japanese, French, German, Spanish)
  • Synced Users cannot access the following
    • API integrations
    • WordPress Plugin
    • Salesforce Engage / Engage for Gmail / Engage for Outlook
    • LeadDeck or other Pardot legacy email plug-ins
